  • Conducted serially, one after the other
  • All participants go through all topics

Plan 2Edit

  • Course-like parallel sessions
  • Divided into multiple batches
  • Each batch focuses only on one selected area of interest
  • Each batch may have limited seats

Suggestions for Technical TopicsEdit

  • Following is the format of the technical sessions during the 5 day winter workshop:

    1) One hour daily on FOSS Contribution May be 8:00 to 9:00
  1. Filing/Traiging bugs in free software
  2. Accessing the source code/Understanding code -revisioning
  3. Running a application by building the source code
  4. Modifying source code, submitting patches
  5. Localization
2) After that atleast 7-8 hours of actual technical topic,? 9:00 to 17:00 (half an hour for lunch)
  • First one is to have same sessions for all the students with following topics for 5 days

  • Second one is to have two streams, Basic and Intermediate . Following are the topics for the students

3) One hour industry person session in the evening (5:30-6:30)
  1. Start-ups basedon free software
  1. People from the industry who are sys-admins
  1. Someone from a reputed MNC company to talk about how mainstream industry is also moving to free software, We can even get Amazon to talk about how their cloud is running on free software
